His very first tweet after Ingram was drafted said it all...
|
NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that Reggie Bush will agree to a new, restructured two-year contract to finalize the trade sending him to the Dolphins.
I hope he thrives down there. Seems like a perfect fit for him in order to get touches... and in the big lights of Miami. Now to a more serious matter... what the hell am I going to do with my authentic Reggie Bush jersey!??!??! |
Bush-Dolphins agree on 2-year contract!!

@Jay_Glazer
According to his agent Joel Segal Bush has made up his mind and he's going to the Fins Sounds like a done deal. |
Does anyone know what we got for him?
|
Bush signs with Dolphins
|
Good luck to Reggie. Hope he does better in Miami. The Dolphins is a good fit for him since they run the ball a lot and they do wildcat.
|
Miami didn't sign Brees when they had the chance. Looks like they are scared of making another mistake. Still gonna miss Bush:( Guess that's why all the shops in New Orleans were having a sale on his jersey over the weekend.
|
what do we get out of this?
|
Bush said the right things but......
......it was all about the money for him!
Looks like we've got a backfield of downhill runners now which I couldn't be happier about anyway! It makes a change! Let's go Mark Ingram! |
Game on!!
Pierre Thomas, Chris Ivory, Lynell Hamilton, Mark Ingram. God its good to be a Saints fan!! |
Ricky is a free agent...Run Rickey Run!

Im ok with Reggie leaving. Only concern is we don't have anyone explosive to return punts. Lance is ok but he's not Reggie back there.
|
Well I wish him the best, I really did enjoy his time here as a Saint. Also glad he is not in our division. He would have never really touch the ball with us anyway.

Ditto!
Reggie is a unique talent and had some incredible highlights in Black&Gold. He kept us on the edge of our seats a LOT! I'll miss Reggie. I wish him all the success he can muster. Stay healthy and heading towards the endzone. |

Hate to see him go, but we knew it was coming. Just glad I never bought a #25 jersey.
|
If I were Reggie I'd try and stay. Miami isn't going anywhere and the Saints have a serious shot of getting deep into the playoffs and beyond. Money is one thing but regret is another. You can always make more money but having two rings and all the accolades that come with it, endorsements, post career opportunities, bragging rights. It would haunt him the rest of his life.
|
Dolphins are sure banking on him at $5 mil a year for 2 yrs.
|
@ProFootballTalk
Reggie Bush deal with the Saints, per league source: Two years, $9.75 million. He gets $5 million in 2011. |
We were going to have to release him anyway... His tweets after the draft proved he was all about the money and wasn't going to work with us on restructuring.
Personally I'm not worried, his rookie season is the only season that he stayed healthy for us. That's with the limited touches that Sean was feeding him. Miami is going to drive him into the ground, his body is just not built for the amount of carries I'm sure they will give him. What is our compensation for the trade? |

Not happy about it. I don't think Miami knows how to use bush correctly and he will only have a marginal impact. Bush has been playing behind one of the better OL in the NFL for years. Miami's OL is not that great. I think they will over play him and he will get hurt,,, um again. Plus they don't have the weapons we have, and good QB play, so he's not much of a mismatch for defenses playing Miami. Id be surprised if he did well there. We needed him because when we have thomas,colston,moore, meachum, and david thomas on the field with bush, he is a mismatch nightmare, you can't put a LB on him, and he's brilliant at sweeps, and short slants. So he kills the blitz on brees. Bush can be on his game, Like the cardinals playoff game, and almost win it single handed, and then he can almost single handedly lose you a game,lol, Like Dallas last year or Seattle. Hes an Xfactor, but not a full time talent, like Johnson. He can't pull the weight of a team. Losing him, it will seriously hurt the way defenses cover our WR,TE's,RB and we might not be able to maintain the #1 offense in the NFL we have enjoyed sense 2006. We might have to come to terms with that, or find another threat to plug into his spot, like Brad smith, maybe. I think the only teams besides N.O. where he could be effective is, Patriots, Eagles, colts, and chargers. But wish him the best, we know he did the best he could, he just cost to much. |
Big reason im happy bush is gone
hopefully this will be one of the last bush related threads i ever have to read.
|
I certainly wouldn't have paid that. I'm sure all the ones hopeful he would take less money now realize it wasn't a realistic option. There were way more important players to get under contract than to re-up Bush at that rate.
It was never about not wanting Reggie back. |

I try to keep my eyes from wandering to that avi but, today...I failed. That chick is so hot...and it reminds me of someone a long time ago... |
Update;
@miketripletttp RT @adbrandt: Bush will get $2.5 million signing bonus and $2.5 million salary from MIA this yr; $4.5 million salary plus wkout bonus next. |
Someone will have to step up as punt returner if he wants to make the team

Hey so we wont have "Flash" in our backfield this year. But look at what we got for this year "POUND" ! DAMN I can't wait to see us on the field
|
Well, who has been keeping track of the "Reggie is not going anywhere" crowd so that the "I told you so"s can begin. :)

Actually they're not as bad as it seems. They drafted Pouncey, Jake Long is All Pro, Carey is solid, and Incognito is a decent interior lineman. Now if they can get Orton to go along with Bush, Thomas, Fasano, Brandon Marshall... they have the makings of a solid offense. I can see him catching 50 balls easily. Running wise, I have no idea what to expect since Thomas is expected to be their pound guy. |
