this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Nicks is a RFA and is a first round tender. Until he signs his tender, a team can have him for a 1st and a 3rd. If someone were to offer this do we take it?...

I'd put a dead horse's head in their bed.

That's tough. He's going to get a huge pay day next season. Can we afford it?

I would say no. Guards are relatively easy to find, but dominate ones like Nicks are very rare. With the window of opportunity for the Saints being now, I would believe the Saints will do everything in their power to keep him around.

Hell to the NO!!! Nicks is a Faneca type of player at guard that comes around very seldom. The interior line i very important too keep our run game going and Brees upright. Pay the man and quit talking this nonsense.

Tough question for Loomis to answer. As long as his contract would not prohibit a Drew extension, I'd say no. I'd keep him. His play has been worth what most #1 and 3 picks have contributed.
