New Member Request
Hey,
My name is Nolan McConville, I have been frequenting black and gold for two years now and just got around to registering up. This is the best saints community on the internet and I'm glad to finally be a part of it... I have a request for anyone that has ties to the front office or individual players in the Saints organization. My best friend Ryan Haymaker was involved in a accident early Friday morning. He was at the top of a 1200 foot glacier at teton national park making a controlled slide when he hit a rock and lost control. He tumbled the rest of the way down the glacier head first into the rocks below. He is in critical condition at a hospital in eastern Idaho where he was airlifted. He had two collapsed lungs, a broken femur, three broken vertebrae and a skull fracture. They put him in a self induced coma for the next week to try and see if the swelling in his brain would go down. It is unknown if he is going to pull through given the severity of his injuries. We have both been avid saints fans since we were kids. I'm asking if anyone on the bored knows anyone that could help me get in contact with a member of the saints organization to put together a video message for him when he wakes up. I'm going to email the saints organization tonight but I thought I would come to you guys first. The Saints are the thing in this world that made him the happiest, he loved every part of it and would never miss watching a game for the world. Below is a link to the article explaining the accident. If anyone has any information please let me know. Thanks, Nolan McConville Jackson Hole Daily | Texas man injured in fall on Middle Teton |

Hope they can get that swelling under control. I suggest you mail the organization a Saints flag and request signatures. It's hard getting their attention. I tried once when deployed and had no luck. My brother however got Les Miles to sign a football with my name when I was in the Army hospital. You should try the college route first.

Just call them up and explain the situation. A direct approach sometimes is the best calling card and sincerity always shines through. I know alot of people in the hospital business and actually did some work for a hospital in Idaho for a while, which one?

glad you joined
Here is what you do. You write them a letter. Not an email, but a real letter; explaining what you would like for the team to do. Then you send a letter to the Drew Brees Foundation asking for Drew's assistance, along with the letter you mailed to the FO. I won't say that it will happen....but I will say that I am 90% sure Drew WILL do something. I have sent a "Special" Request to Drew and the FO, and they came through with flying colors. Good luck and my prayers are with your firend and his family. |

I don't know SS, they are deep in it right now. That stuff is going to get set aside for a while. You can try Nolan. I say get a flag and get it to a fan day/training camp signing and have it in his room when it comes around as a backup plan. He's going to be laid up for a long, long time and that flag will do a lot more than a video. I've been there and I'd rather something to hang in my room.
