My money is on Payton staying here until he retires. In New Orleans he has complete control, a winning team, and he can practically get whatever salary he wants. What possible reason would he ever have to go coach Dallas? Because he loves Jerry Jones so much? Not even Jerry Jones' own mother ever loved him that much.

Not that I'm stating that I believe SP is going to be the head coach of the Cowboys either in the near nor far future... just playing devil's advocate.

I have not checked any facts, but it would be interesting to investigate how many HOF coaches spent their whole HC career with only 1 team? The closest
I can come up with from the top of my head would be Vince Lombardi, but even he had the short stint with the Redskins to end his career. So from that
standpoint, maybe SP could feel like that if he could rejuvenate another franchise - it would solidify his legacy as one of the best (at least of modern times).
Maybe J. Jones would be willing to let him have free reigns in football decisions!? Or maybe JJ just throws so much money at him that it becomes virtually impossible
to decline.

I guess the speculation began with him buying a house near there, and his family mostly living there (I could be wrong on this). That could be another reason
to take a job closer to "home."

What if Brees went with him? I mean he doesn't have a contract with the Saints except for this year, and even though there have been reports from both
sides that they're working on a new one... nothing is set in stone. Brees is from Texas, so he might want to play for the Cowboys?!

Jerry Jones is a control freak who doesn't understand football as well as Al Davis.
Well right there it's just a matter of comparing Skeletor with the Crypt Keeper.

Again just speculating... not stating or hoping for any of this.
