Does anyone else think that Gregg is being groomed to take the crown if Coach Payton's plans to retire in a couple of years are true?

I think that GW hanging around combined with SP saying he doesn't want to coach forever adds up to that being a strong possibility. |

season 'cos GW isn't going to wait forever to get another chance at HC. If they'll be as dominant on the D as most of us believe they are going to be... then GW's stock is going to be very high and the offers are going to be pouring in. And it's probably not just a case of getting the chance to call all of the shots, because as I understand it, there's also quite a bump in pay grade moving from DC to HC. And we are always talking about how some player had to take the offer of another team 'cos he won't get many more chances for a big contract (see-> Goodwin). So, why couldn't the same be said for coaches and coordinators? Oh, and the Vitt suggestion was a joke - or a nightmare - depending on the point of view, which will hopefully/likely never happen. |

I hate to say this, but we are on GW last year, and I think he wants to be a head coach.
I don't think he is going to stick around for Sean Payton to retire. |

Hes been a horrible head coach everywhere he has been. Sometimes great coordinators do not translate into great head coaches and I believe Williams is one of these. I for one would rather find someone else to replace Payton when he retires. Someone better will be out there, and with the way this program has improved we will pretty much be able to get anyone we want.
