Predicting The 53 Man Roster
Good Morning Folks! I've been lurking around this site for a while and finally decided to start posting.
Every year around this time I like to sit down and try to figure out what our 53 man roster is gonna look like, so here goes my best attempt at predicting what the 2011 version of the saints is gonna look like. QB (2) Brees Daniel RB (4) Thomas Ivory Ingram Sproles FB (1) Hall WR (6) Colston Moore Meacham Henderson Roby Arrington TE (3) Thomas Graham Humphreys OL (8) Bushrod Evans Tennant Nicks Stincomb Streif Brown G/C Free Agent (I hope its Kreutz) DE (5) Smith Brown Jordan McBride Gallette DT (4) Ellis Rogers Franklin Johnson LB (7) Vilma Shanle Wilson Casillas Herring Dunbar Ingram CB (5) Greer Porter Robinson Washington Patrick S (5) Jenkins Harper Oliver Reis Amaya Specialists (3) Hartley Morestead Drescher Practice Squad / IR Nate Bussey LB Mike Smith T Ryan Taylor C Montez Billings WR DeAndre McDaniel S Sean Canfield QB Swanson Miller DT Tyler Lorenzen TE Greg Romeus IR Tough Cuts (May End Up on Roster in Case of Injury) Lynell Hamilton Prioleau (between him Reis and Amaya for final spot) Danny Clark Charelston (Not Resigned) Heath Evans (Not Resigned) Well, there you have it. Feel free to make your own! |

With Smith suspended and Ivory probably hitting the PUP, that opens 2 spots. McDaniel(just b/c someone will probably scoop him up quick... won't make it to our P/S) and Romeus to fill in. I'm okay with carrying 3 backs to start the season.
Til just now, I had no idea who Drescher was. Looks good... and welcome to the site. |

Looks about right maybe a couple changes. I just don't see the Saints keeping Alex Brown we can save that money and use it for another player.

What about the UDF WR Fayson? He's apparently been one of the standouts during the first days of camp. He might even have the skill set to make AA expendable. Although I can't testify to any of this personally... just hearsay.

As much as I'd love to re-sign Heath, I just don't see it in the cards. Heath can do everything, but he's older and has a higher price tag. I think we want more of a pure blocker to clear out space for our new power running game.
No idea what ever happened to Eckel, pretty sure he cut before last season. |

Anybody been keepin' an eye on Dwight Roberson (LB)?
