this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; IMO the objective is to make the other team mostly give up on the run and become mostly one-dimensional with the pass. Once this happens, GW can put in his aggressive blitzing or bizarre coverage schemes to rattle the opposition ...

IMO the objective is to make the other team mostly give up on the run and become mostly one-dimensional with the pass. Once this happens, GW can put in his aggressive blitzing or bizarre coverage schemes to rattle the opposition and try to force an incompletion or a takeaway.

With our defense, we want teams to throw the ball....
The problem with the passing game is you have only one good thing that can happen and a boat load of things that can go wrong. Incompletion Interception Penalty Sack Fumble Stops the Clock - More possesions for Saints With the secondary we've accumulated, we are daring people to throw it. Can you say turnover? We have an offense that can get into a shoot out with anyone. Bring it on babby. I trust in Greg Williams & Sean Payton know what they are doing. |

Franklin isn't as fast as Rodgers, but the big boy can collapse the pocket quite quickly, forcing the QB out of the pocket into the helmet of an oncoming heat seeking missle. I truly think we improved our pass rush just as much as our run stopping ability. Again, as with everything right now, its all on paper. But this team looks loaded. |

Not to worry...the blur of Harper will blind people from noticing Shanle's tardiness.

I seem to remember Rogers giving Drew fits last year in that game. (I kinda think that game was Rogers' resume to Loomis and Payton.)
