2003 Draft analysis
New Orleans... Time will tell whether the Saints paid too much when they gave up two mid-first round picks to move up to the 6th slot overall in order to acquire DT Johnathan Sullivan. Sullivan was solid enough helping to clog up the middle of the Saints' defensive front, but made few plays of his own, contributing just 34 tackles and only one sack. Meanwhile, 5th round DE Mel Williams overcame some early season knee problems to contribute as a situational player, but in the end failed to register a sack. OG Montrae Holland, also got some minutes as an injury replacement, however, that was pretty much it in terms of productivity from the Saints' rookie class. Mid-season grade: C-
