Fine. Except that Hartley did not lose the game. He missed the kick. The kick was in overtime. After the kick, the game continued (was not over) and the Falcons eventually won. Lots of things happened in that game, before and after that kick. You might want to give some "credit" to the defense, for letting the Falcons move down the field and kick their own field goal after Hartley missed....technically that's what "lost" the game... But I guess the fact that Hartley holds a Super Bowl record for kicking 3 kicks all from 40+, I suppose that probably escapes your memory as well. (It's been talked about before, BTW -- Hartley's overall numbers are not all that much different from what Morton's were at this early stage in their two careers.) So suit yourself. You are free to blame whoever you want, and remember or forget whatever you want.

Kasay has been rock solid for decades. My concern is that he is a lefty. I wonder if that presents any hold issues?

Kasey had an excellent year in 2010, should have never been let go by Carolina, but it is what it is. Dude still has a nice leg and should do very well with the Saints, providing the Saints do not run into issues with the hold. No real idea on why Kasey wasn't picked up sooner by another team, I know he is 42, but that is not a big issue for a kicker. He probably has two or three good years left in him. |
