They can't. If Hartley was injured BEFORE training camp, he would have been eligible for PUP (think Darren Sharper last year). You can't be on PUP if you were in camp or played in preseason.

My good friend Jeff..just told me Hartley out 8 weeks..not confrimed ..so we shall see.

If he is out 8 weeks, then I would IR him. I think we could use the roster spot. Kasay is good for 1 more year.

Agreed, if he is going to be out 8 weeks then the Saints have no real choice and will have to IR him. What a shame, he is an excellent kicker.
