Source says Saints and Drew Brees have a "huge gap" to close in contract talks
this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I just say be resonable. Don't try to one up the last guy in paycheck. That's how we got into the rookie pay mess. Let Philly and Indy burn all that cash on their QB's. Drew deserves a nice paycheck ...

I just say be resonable. Don't try to one up the last guy in paycheck. That's how we got into the rookie pay mess. Let Philly and Indy burn all that cash on their QB's. Drew deserves a nice paycheck but to give him a blank check and hurt the potential of having money left to sign key players is like trading away your entire draft for one player.
Drew is the francise but you need a team around him for success. Does he need to be the highest paid player on the team..yes. Highest in the NFL....not really. |
