My Take On Game One
I'm going to be brutally honest. Our tacking sucks. Period. This isn't new...been a problem for years. It still is. The first guy rarely makes the stop. One cut and we're smoked. Every play. Ever time. Few exceptions. This seems like it should be easy to fix. Why isn't it fixed?
I'm going to be brutally honest. Our oline sucks. Period. This isn't new...been a problem for years. It's time to stop questioning our backs. NOBODY since Deuce can get that half yard or yard. It's not the back. It's the line. Period. Drew makes them look better on passing plays. For all the money we pay our interior guys, we sure do fail a lot when it counts up front. Can we get a new equipment guy? How we came out of that game without 10 broken ankles is a feat in and of itself. We are a very good offense in spite of our oline issues. Clearly we have heart. No doubt our defense will perform better against lesser offenses, but we were embarrassed tonight. I am encouraged because I have faith that out D will get better. I can say this because it would be difficult to play any worse than we did tonight. GB is good. Our D made them look much better. I should also be said that, somehow, as bad as we played, we managed to damn near pull it off but for our inability to run block and a very questionable play call on the last play of the game. I am disgusted, but not without hope. This one will take some time to get over. |
C'mon Man...

Where did you play college ball?
Wait, let me rephrase that. Did you even graduate from high school? |

I would not go as far as embarrassed. The D did not play well, but we were going against one of the best offensives in the NFL with no tape on them. Except from last year.
The fumble killed us. Tackling is pretty weak. Also O-line played pretty well against one of the best pass rushing D's in the league. Could they be better yes. We were playing against the superbowl winner in there home. We lost by 8. |

I saw some tackling. You guys focus on the negative a lot.
My generation calls that being a whiner. What does yours? |

Awesome game, D looked bad but hell the Packs do that a lot. I'm sure they'll get better as things progress.

I give GB all the credit in the world. Clearly they were prepared for this game and we had to go up there and play the world champs in a hostile environment and all that.
The facts remain regardless. We MUST tackle better. We are going to have to live another year with an oline that will fail often on short yardage. I'm sure Sean will adjust his play calling accordingly, but why he wasn't already aware of it is a bit of a mystery to me. |

Guys, honestly, all of the positions that were supposed to be upgraded, didn't look any better than they did last year. I was looking for Charles Grant out there! Our secondary looked absolutely pathetic. By a measuring stick? They are the SB champions! If we can't judge ourselves by this game, which one can we? Tired of excuses on defense. Jenkins is a helluva player, but he is not the caller that Sharper is. Experience would have been a major factor tonight. I say sign him tomorrow.

Maybe, but they didn't do anything we weren't expecting. Cutback runs work against us last year. They still do. We still can't get any pressure unless we blitz like hell and that seems to fail more than it doesn't.
