this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm with the hatters on Collinsworth, never have I liked anything this dink has too say. But I can't blame him, we were just not anywhere near ready for GB last night....

Here's my point.....
I am 100% for freedom of speech and thought. However, when you are suppose to be a "NON BIASED" commentator and every chance you can make your distaste for another team apparent......I have a problem with that. Do I get heartburn listening to him...No. Do I stop watching a game just because he calls it....NO. I feel the same way about Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreet reguarding LSU. Now, Does Collinsworth call a good game? Yes, he explains plays, great at bringing emotion to the viewers. I just don't like when he calls a Saints game. Yes, I understand the commentators, sports casters all the way down to the poor guys that run the cables for the camera crew; are fans of a particular team. I feel, that when you are on the National stage you should show a bit of reserve is your Fandom. To me it seems as if he will make a point (with the Saints) to keep turning the knife after it has been buried up to the handle. |

Why does everyone thing they need to be NON-BIASED. They don't have to be they are allowed to like a team and have a favorite. There is no law saying they have to be Non-Biased.
The only non biased person you are going to find is someone who isn't a fan of football and even then they may show fav's based on where they are from or who there Dad like. The way we played D... we deserved every bit of bashing we got. Announcers and analyst announce who their favorite teams are every day on ESPN and other channels. Terry Bradshaw is a Saints fan and doesn't hide that fact. |

You just can't fault the guy for giving props to a team was scored 4 TDs on their first 5 possessions. I don't see how you sugar-coat that, even if you're a Saints homer. |
