stupid article. held us to field goals the entire game lost the credibility for the artilce. the playcall in hind sight looked bad. but when you have and all pro center and 2 pro bowl beastly guards and a rb that is supposed to be bad @$$ you think you should be able to get a yard. if you cant get a yard then you dont deserve to win. if the play would have worked it would have set the tone for the entire season.

One of the talking idiots form ESPN actually said something that made sense (Scherer I think it was...)
Pass blocking & run blocking are so different that after the steady diet of passing the line was not ready/able (whatever) to really block properly on that run!! |

I'm a pass-off-the-run kind'a guy and NOT a run-off-the-pass dude. Its a mind-set and we lost the battle of the trenches early, and never turned the tide. Payton has always been pass happy. Payton seems to want to run after he gets Brees going, and its iffy at best. When Brees goes for +400 we are like 3-7, its crazy. Payton needs to spread the field for his pro-bowl center/guards combo, and not let teams put 8 people in the box on short yardage running situations. The screens aren't working either. I think somebody got a copy of our play book. |
