Want to Grade Loomis Now?

...or wait a few more games?

Some of those FA acquisitions weren't really there when the real bullets started to fly...

Neaux, Loomis didn't blow the coverages or miss the tackles...

My point is, wait a few more games then you can assess the grades up and down the organization...

papz 09-09-2011 07:03 AM

Uh...

A.

We just went down to the wire with the defending Superbowl Champs. One game isn't going to start swaying people into your line of thinking Loomis is an idiot. He has an outstanding resume and consider one of the best in the league by the majority of the league.

I really want to bust a Choup here but that would just be mean.

This. Anyone with half a brain would've loved the moves Loomis made. It's not his fault that GW can't seem to plan a scheme that would stop a high school team, or that our guys just can't seem to tackle. Loomis gets an A, period. Our team last night, specifically the D, doesn't.

How does this even make a shred of sense?

If you'd read my entire post, that's exactly what I just said; wait a few games then assess grades...

Really? After one game?

EDIT: After one PLAY?

Euphoria 09-09-2011 07:41 AM

Ok I am convinced after reading most of the posts since the game that they should turn the internet off after a Saints loss because people will write the most stupid stuff.

I did like the suicide hotline post that... very fitting.

IMO, It wasn't ingrams fault our O line was in the back field for that particular play. Ingram was an excellent pickup now we just need to pick up some great O-lineman next year in free agency or the draft. GB controlled the line of scrimmage last night, and although that alone didn't win them the game, it was a very significant factor in their victory. EVERYBODY CHILL. I'm p-oed that we lost this game, and I'm very disappointed in our defensive play, but look at at least one bright spot, we have a legit return man that doesn't do backwards cartwheels and MC hammer dances on returns, he just hauls tail. Loomis is not the reason we lost last night.

SapperSaint 09-09-2011 07:56 AM

Darren Sproles A Freakin +++++++

If you think Mark Ingram was a stupid draft pick, you have a very wierd sense/idea of what a good football players is.

I may be wrong..... but I'm gonna ask you at the end of the year if you still feel Mark Ingram was a wasted pick.

Ashley 09-09-2011 08:01 AM

I say we really can't judge yet... But I still have the grade as a A for now.

Cam Jordan, just have not seen him do anything yet. Hell I never even heard his name being called either.

You can't honestly believe that we are going to have the worst record in the NFL, so that must mean you just like to say stupid crap after a loss.

Nope...I don't. I understand that you are saying that we won't win more than 2 games, but what I don't understand is how you can possibly think that is true. I would be willing to put my money where my mouth is, though...would you?

While that appears to be in English, I don't understand Failclown. You are on the wrong message board.

You can't possibly be dumb enough to think that we are going to have the worst record in the NFL. So, that must mean you are just letting your emotions get the best of you. Try to man up and not be so emo.

There was no name calling here..just called the post stupid...this guy might be a genius ..but this post is stupid and uncalled for..calling him a Falcqueens fan is worse to me...but i wonder..

Fixed that for you. No predicting us to go 2-14 does... that's something a clueless over the top Falcons fan would do.

I've been a Saints fan since the beginning, and have stuck with them from the bag days through the Championship. I even attended the 2005 games in Baton Rouge and there weren't many of us. You could just about go around and introduce yourself to all who were there. I've had Saints season tickets since the 80s. How long have you had season tickets?
Why do I find this so hard to believe? Did you lose a bet that made you buy Saints tickets? That would be one hell of a bet.

Poydras if you're reading this, I think you need to put a muzzle on him. All that bird poop is coming out the wrong end.

I'm not going to question your fandom....but after this little comment I will question your understaning of the game. You're not being a realist....your making over dramatic and insubstantiated comments after a loss. There is no reason to believe this team will only win two games this year. You just set yourself up to be mocked and made fun of for the rest of the season. Stop defending your comment and trying to justify it. It's making you look ridiculous.

"WINNING IS AN ATTITUDE". I also got a flag saying "FIRST EVER SELLOUT" that year. Want to know what the bumper sticker was this year? There wasn't one, just a windshield sticker that said "2011 SEASON TICKET OWNER". Stop running your mouth when you have no idea what you're talking about.

So you been a fan since 05?..now i see

I believe you are a saints fan. But I also believe your comments are an extreme over reaction. I understand being mad about this loss, I was p-oed as well. the lesson you need to learn is to refrain from posting so soon after a loss. Just say all these things to yourself in the mirror and blow it off. You know darn well we are not going to finish 2-14, so why post it. I'm not hating on you, just trying to give you some perspective. and about your pessimistic/realistic comment, you were in no way being realistic, you were obviously being pessimistic.

That sounds about right.

Okay okay, so you're not a Falcons fan. So from your post so far, you're the type of Saints fan that blast the Saints after a loss and hope back on after a win.

Yea I was being extreme... saw what I did?

Took a page out of your book.

Take a chill pill... it's going to be a hell of a season. The sky is not falling.

I think 2005 and 2006 are probably the most telling. Some of us didn't give up on the them. That doesn't make me some kind of eternal optimist though. The Saints are what they are.

So, you didn't give up on them back then but you are giving up on them now? BTW, I don't count attending the games and badmouthing them the whole time as supporting them. Quite frankly, if you act at the games the way you have in this thread I am sure some of your neighbors would prefer you stayed at home.

I can't imagine how miserable it must be to sit near such a negative nancy.

And I am sorry to hear you are old enough to have been a fan in the 60's. I had hoped you were just very young and that you might grow out of it. But, given your age that's probably not going to happen. You are going to remain this way. It's sad, but no one is going to remember you as a stand up guy. This is your legacy.

MorningWood 09-09-2011 12:08 PM

Well, we really didn't trade a first round pick for Ingram. We gave up a second round pick in order to swap our 2011 1st for NE's 2010 1st.

Yous maybe right. But I figure with the talent we have we will be a lot closer to 11 than your 2.

But back to grading Loomis. Well it was not about just one player. Please can we give a few games first.

While I frequently put my face in my hands when we do something boneheaded, you will rarely here me say anything particularly bad. As for being old, yes. Believe it or not, I played high school football against Archie Manning. That was before he bacame "Archie Manning" of course. As far as what people think about me; only a couple of people matter and the list only includes my wife and kids. For the record, my kids think I'm way too pessimistic but my wife, who has been through 40+ years of being a Saints fan is more like I am....

NOW; back to Loomis! I think it was a mistake to trade a 1st round pick for ANYONE. I didn't agree with it at the time and I don't agree with it now.

Listen to your kids.
Now you're starting to sound more like a Saints fan. Just take a few deep breaths and remember we all went through that loss. I still want to look for the positives and remain optimistic that we can and will play better.
There is nothing wrong with questioning the system. We all do it from time to time.
