Receivers coach hired
It is up there turbo go get it ...lol
No kidding , receiver coaches are usually the reception specialists and if the problem persists the Tight end coach will defer to the receiver coach on technique . [Edited on 15/1/2004 by saintz08] [Edited on 16/1/2004 by saintz08] |

- Articles from other sites: To post an article it must be Saints related. Also you must cite the source of the article and give them credit. Posting the entire article is not allowed, you can post part of the article and create a link to the rest. Most importantly, the source needs to be cited.
Maybe you just need to be reminded... Roflmao - That would have been a pretty long pass from scrimmage , Buffalo to Atlanta . My writing must have looked like something Saintsfan would have written .Supposed to be Once featured , OMG I have been reading Saintsfans posts to long I am typing like him ..lol Not sure How many drops Barber has but according to this write up below in week 12 , Shockley is the bumble artist in New York and last I checked he is also a receiver . Week 12 - Monday Night Nov 24, 2003, New York Giants vs. Tampa Bay The Giants’ Offense really hasn’t consistently clicked all year, there have been spurts of production from Kerry Collins who has put up several 300 yard passing games, but the production is far from the prolific offense we expected to see in New York this year. Collins has thrown for 2655 yards but only 12 TDs in comparison to 13 interceptions giving him a barely passable QB rating of 74.0. Amani Toomer is still stretching defenses on the outside, hauling in 43 balls for 750 yards. The downside, Toomer has only 2 touchdowns. The teams red zone threat, if you could say they have one, has been Ike Hilliard who has 6 TD catches. To make matters worse, the much anticipated maturation of Jeremy Shockey at TE has been hampered by injuries, dropped passes, and an occasion homophobic remark. He’s been a solid Tight End but hasn’t drawn coverage like he did in his rookie year. All of this aside, the greatest problem the Giants have had is on there offense line. The line has three new starters and has allowed 17 sacks this year. Not quite Texanesque, but hardly the base for a high powered passing game. The running game, while still strong behind Tiki Barber, has been hampered by a cas of the fumbles. Barber better learn to hold onto the ball or the team may quickly forget his dual threat potential. Coming into the game with Tampa Bay, the Giants had better get well quick. Shockey is listed as questionable and will play if Fassel determines it won’t reaggravate his injury. Ike Hilliard is also questionable. If he doesn’t play, keep an eye on rookie David Tyree who broke out for 106 yards last game. Look for the Giants to take it slow this game and try to get off to a solid start behind Tiki and then open up the passing game in the second quarter. I expect the Giants offense to get on track against a Tampa defense that has been more bark than bite this year. Or maybe there was a link in what was what I assume to be the entire article that I missed somewhere. |
C'mon Man...

Here is a write up on Robinson :
and a link for Saintsfan, just in case http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...3716191410.xml Saints hire receivers coach Ex-Giants assistant Robinson joins staff Thursday January 15, 2004 By Brian Allee-Walsh Staff writer Saints coach Jim Haslett filled one of his two staff vacancies Wednesday with the hiring of veteran wide receivers coach Jimmy Robinson. Robinson, 51, comes to the Saints from the New York Giants where he served under former coach Jim Fassel the past six seasons. Fassel and his staff were fired after the season. From Our Advertiser Robinson replaces former Saints wide receivers coach Hubbard Alexander, whose contract was not renewed. \"We wanted an experienced guy, plus Jimmy\'s played the game and that\'s a real positive,\" Haslett said. \"He\'s a disciplinarian. He\'s a tough guy. He\'s a perfect fit for our football team. We talked to a lot of quality coaches in trying to fill this position but in our view Jimmy\'s experience and track record has made him a cut above the rest.\" The job came down to Robinson and former Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Jerry Sullivan, who\'s expected to become wide receivers coach for Miami. \"This is a great chance to work for a good team with a lot of talented wide receivers,\" said Robinson, who signed a two-year contract. \"I\'m grateful for the opportunity and am looking forward to the challenge.\" Robinson\'s hiring was received warmly by Saints wide receiver Joe Horn, who had publicly criticized team officials for not retaining Alexander. \"I\'m very happy for Coach Robinson and his family,\" said Horn, who missed the regular-season finale against Dallas with a separated shoulder. \"Hopefully he can upgrade our receiving corps and make a big difference. I\'m sure there are a lot of things he can teach us. I look forward to working with him. \"I plan on getting a personal trainer this offseason and come back in the best shape of my life. I want to help this franchise win a Super Bowl for Mr. (Tom) Benson in the next couple of years. I\'m going to chill out and get back to being the Joe Horn that I\'ve always been and make plays like I always have.\" Robinson has tutored some outstanding receivers during NFL coaching stops with Atlanta (1990-93), Indianapolis (1994-97) and the Giants (1998-2003), including Amani Toomer, Ike Hilliard, Marvin Harrison, Andre Rison, Michael Haynes and Mike Pritchard, among others. Robinson played wide receiver for seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (1975), Giants (1976-79), San Francisco 49ers (1980) and Denver Broncos (1981). He also coached at Georgia Tech (1986-89) and with the Memphis Showboats in the USFL (1985-86). Haslett is in the process of hiring a defensive line coach. That opening was created when team officials did not renew the contract of Sam Clancy. NOTES: Assistant strength and conditioning coach Jerry Palmeiri resigned to become the Giants\' new strength and conditioning coach under Coach Tom Coughlin. . . . . . . . |
