this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Taken from another site : There's no way Jake could have beaten the Vikings, Bengals or Panthers. No way! This entire administration is a joke. We gave up the playoffs because our QB has a fragile ego. To all who ...

Jake lights up the Saints boards
Taken from another site :
Haslett tanked the season due to Brooks fragile ego , and people wonder about those players that quit on Hazbeen and those he deems cancerous . |

Jake lights up the Saints boards
Who cares, Duece and Aaron were both banged up at the end of 2002, and the defense was horrible. Even if the Saints would have stumbled into the playoffs, they would have been blown out in the first round.
I love the logic some Jake supporters use, during AB and Jake debates. Aaron, Saints 8-8. Jake, Panthers 11-5. Jake is better. How about Duece, Saints 8-8. Stephen Davis, Panthers 11-5. Davis is better. |

Jake lights up the Saints boards
Hindsight is always 20/20 and I\'m sure Jim Haslett is kicking himself in the cahonies right now. Who cares? I care. As a Saints fan, everyone should be happy they at least make the playoffs and Haz screwed us out of it by letting Brooks play hurt and not giving Jake the chance. Now Jake is showing what he can do as a field general. I, for one, I\'m extremely happy for what Jake is doing (and proving) in Carolina. It just chaps my hide that he was never given that opportunity in New Orleans.

Jake lights up the Saints boards
Board across board the point is being made :
Most likely anyone that can see beyond the quarterback comparison to some other glaring problems . Like Hasletts commitment to winning in New Orleans . Hasletts ability to judge talent on the football field . And how big of a liar is Haslett . Who cares ?? Any Saints fan that wants to see the Saints in the play offs ....... |

It at least has to make you wonder. I mean, what was Haslett thinking?
At the beginning of the season (\'02) he comes out talking about how happy he is about the Saints QB situation. He says that Aaron will be a star and that Jake could start a lot of other places in the league. What we saw from Jake in preseason and Aaron in the first 7 games certainly supported that claim. Fast forward two months and Brooks is a better option than Delhomme with an injury to his throwing arm that is clearly effecting his throwing motion and velocity? Sounds like Haslett is talking out of both sides of his mouth. Jake is good enough to start a lot of places in this league... Aaron at 70% or worse is a better option than Delhomme.... WHAT?! I guess maybe that would be true if Brooks were a Peyton Manning type player, or had shown the sucess and built the legend that Favre has. But that\'s not the case. Delhomme\'s year this year in his FIRST as a starter was about as good as Brooks\' year, and this was his third FULL year as a starter. That\'s fine by me. The further Delhomme goes and the more praise he receives the higher the pressure on Haslett to suceed or else. |

Jake lights up the Saints boards
Jake plays well for what he is asked to do. I\'ll give Jake credit where credit is due. But, let\'s be honest, Jake isn\'t asked to do that much. Bill Parcells says that the less you have to rely on the QB, the better off you are. It seems like John Fox follows that same belief.
The Panthers seem to be a team of destiny and someone seems to make a play when they need it. I thought their luck would have run out a long time ago, but they are still on the \"magical mystery tour.\" Anyway, y\'all can look at the Panther\'s record and proclaim Jake\'s greatness and compare him to Brooks, but Jake\'s done something that it took Peyton 6-years to do. So, instead of comparing him to Brooks, let\'s compare him to Peyton. That\'s fair, RIGHT? |

Not takin\' anything away from Delhomme 08, but you continue to bring it up so here we go again...
Jake failed to crack the starting lineup in New Orleans...you say it was a conspiracy...I say it was definately not a conspiracy. Jake also failed to crack the starting lineup in NFL Europe as I recall. He was also undrafted. The great Bill Parcells had a chance to sign him last year and, being the great coach and great judge of talent we all know him to be opted not to. Even his current coach didn\'t have him in the starting lineup at the beginning of the year. Having said all that, I think Jake has done an exceptional job this year. He\'s also playing on a team with an incredible defense...at team that gets more breaks than Evil Kenieval. Carolina was a dropped pass (Tory Holt I think it was) from going home. They\'ve been on the brink all year. To their credit they keep on winning, and to his creadit Jake seems to be getting better and better...I\'m all about credit where credit is due...but why do you think it took Jake so long? |
C'mon Man...
