I was always of the mind that Culpepper's days were best left in Minny. He was a benefactor of all the talent available to him on that loaded offense back in those days.
There are certain vibes about players I get when I know they will just light it up with particular teams. I had it immediately with Drew. I never thought he would challenge Marino for passing records but I knew he would be of great value. Daunte was a good QB but I don't think he ever commanded true leadership qualities that head coaches and OCs would just hand the keys over to him the way QBs such as Brees and Peyton do. |

I was all for an injured Brees over Culpepper. I was concerned with his injury but I wanted Brees for his mind over Culpepper's physical abilities. Culpepper seemed like a bigger Aaron Brooks to me.
