Exactly what I'm getting at. Last year he was just flying to the ball and it looks like his mentality has changed back there this one. He's getting there at least 3 steps late on help over the top and appears to be looking for the big highlight hit instead of making a play on the ball.

I know we haven't had much pressure rushing 4 this season, but we have had success bringing 5 or 6... though it varies from game to game. Even when we are getting pressure, Jenkins still hasn't been in position to make plays on the ball when we were accostumed to seeing last season. I'm not even concerned with the lack of INT's, more or less PD's, getting a hand on the ball, or just being in the play honestly.

I hope he gets back on his game... we need him to lead back there. With the amount of blitzing we have to do to get pressure, his play is crucial being our safety net back there.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

He surely could use another year or two with Sharper!!!

I think he played better as Sharpers back up and being tooled by Sharper. With no Sharper coaching him up and watching he is falling behind.

All the DB's have been suspect at one time or another this year.

That is true, Mardigras9, because everyone has a bad game at some point. We have to remember, although it is tough, that these guys didn't even know who they were as a team for a while, due to the stupid lockout. I think to be the SB winning caliper team, they have to go all out every game. And they need coach P out there on that field to get them motivated. Can't wait until he gets back out there!

Our DB play, IMO, is a direct reflection and consequence of our poor play up front. Our front four has been terrible. Smith has somewhat held his own since he got back from suspension, but the rest have done near nothing. No pass rush to speak of and giving up groundage like its Christmas. Harper lives in the blitz package and that leaves Jenkins flapping in the wind if they don't get to the QB. It looks like confusion sometimes in the secondary. When that's happening I have to look to the sideline for an explanation. Fundamental tackling has got to return to our ranks. How long have we been calling for this?

True, would have been a different game even as bad as they were playing. Of course, with the lack of protection Drew had it may not have.

Right now what I see is Porter needs the most help. Greer is covering his man pretty good and P.Rob can cover decently when he's not giving a 7-10 yard cushion. He needs to be up on his man at the line. Porter for some reason, maybe because he isn't 100% healthy or he doesn't trust his knee yet looks a little tenative on coverage and I would cheat Jenkins to his side for now or at least make Jenkins aware of what side Porter lines up on. Also we need to learn how to switch man coverage on crossing routes. Good lord we did that playing sandlot. Don't let yourself get picked on a crossing route. Good thing Lloyd drop the ball or that would have been a 68 yd TD.

Defense gave up 30+. They almost always do. The offense laid an uncharacteristic egg.

For the rest of this year you can expect similar results if our O isn't on target. The defense had a couple opportunities yesterday to get INTs and failed to make the catch. With no spark on Offense we were doomed.
