Weird stat
Last Thursday night Gil Brandt pointed out that 9 teams have scored over 60 points in an NFL game. All but 1 lost their next game.
Now 10 teams have scored over 60, and still all but 1 lost. He did pick the Saints though. |

I think if the saints had won by 14 or 21 against the colts, they would have won against the rams. The rams saw this as there Superbowl, there moment of the year and they played like it. The saints played a pre-season game.

Yeah and beyond just the stats and horrible defense and stuff, you could clearly see they looked flat or tired out there against the Rams...things weren't popping like usual. The offense looked anemic, like they didn't eat their Wheaties that week or something. I think the Colts game was exciting, exhilarating and fun, but maybe it was too much of a good thing, on an energy or adrenalin type level. Even winning takes the wind out of you. That's probably why that historical stat is the way it is. They were clearly out of gas in St. Louis. That's why I'm bummed but NOT hugely stressed out about that loss.

PLAYOFFS!!!???? The Saints have no Will to Win. This team looks like the 2007 - 2008 teams.

The weirdest stat is that Gil Brandt knew the trend and then went against it.
