The thing is that the Saints' D does not need to be the best in the league in any category - they only need to be at least as good as the D on the other side of the field on any given Sunday.
The Saints' O should ultimately be the one to carry the team to its victories with Brees as the QB, while the D should just take care not to be the reason why they lost a given game. GW's D philosophy is one of high risk/high reward, and while the stats may state that historically the risk has not payed off... it sure makes for some entertaining games! ![]() |

I think this is what some people fail to understand. We don't need to have the top defense... or even one of the top defenses in this league to accomplish our goal. We've done it before... as have many other teams that has won a Superbowl.
