I just think that the NFL is the wrong place to make religious statements. And to be clear, I'm Catholic and go to church myself, but when you reach the point to where you have to make your own personal prayer a spectacle during sporting events it has reached the point of absurdity.

I agree it is pretty funny. I honestly can't think of how one could visibly worship the devil, maybe point to the ground and snarl? If Tebow's career fizzles out are we to assume that Lucifer has defeated him?

To illustrate the absurdity, could you imagine if Usama Young starts visibly worshipping Allah after each pick 6? He crosses the goalline, drops down to his knees in the endzone, starts bowing and chanting Allah Akbar (assumedly pointing toward Mecca, maybe he has a compass?).

Then, all of the Saints players gather around him in the endzone and start bowing, kneeling, yelling 'Allah Akbar!'. Then the camera pans to the sideline again after the PAT and Young is still bowing and chanting 'Allah Akbar' as the announcers fawn over him.

Save it for church dude, its embarrassing.

Oh no, you cant do that! That will get you a flag and a 15 yard penalty assessed on the kickoff! Just ask the player who dropped to his knees and saluted ut troops last week.

I want to see it taken one step further. If someone came out and said "Yeah, the drug tests never caught me, but I have been taking steroids." what is gonna happen? BAM, suspended.

So if a player asks for and truly believes that they received divine outside assistance from an all powerful deity... I mean, how is that not cheating?
How can the other team overcome you invoking the power of an all mighty god? Steroids have nothing on that. So, every time a player gives a point up to heaven and gives the glory to god, they should get suspended for cheating.
