Tackle? Caress? So confusing!!!
That "no call" taunting by Jacobs pissed me off more than anything. I mean there were two officials trying to get him to stop and he just kept on going, I'm like where is the flag, why aren't they throwing a flag. He danged near started a riot on the field. The Saints defenders were getting highly P O'd. As for Roby I never saw a replay of what he did either. If Jacobs didn't get flagged then Roby must have mooned the Giants bench or something. I don't know.

This is today's game whether we like it or not. High hard hits are going to be called even if it turns out there is not helmet contact. The officials are told to error on the side of safety. The League is content to live with this as they try to protect players and send a message. We all have to live with this.
I've been saying it. Don't blame the refs. They aren't idiots. Blame the league for forcing them to call crap like that. If the rule is to throw a flag when the hit is "high and hard", well, that's subjective. There will never be any consistency to it. Like Steve Young said, might as well do away with the safety position because the NFL won't let them play it.

I wish they all hit like Abadabado, thats football to me. Was he going to let him waltz into the end zone? He didn't did he, he popped his sail.

I agree I don't think it's the refs being picky, they are just doing what they have been told to do. I, too, feel they have been told to throw the flag regardless of wether or not helmet to helmet is involved. I think some safety's are going to say, to heck with it, I'll take the 15 yds and the 25K fine. I'm playing football. Ronnie Lott would go broke playing football today.
