Glad to hear someone else say this. I have always felt that the numbers or the final score didn't always tell the story of how a game went. I'll take a defense that let's the offense move up and down the field but holds them to FG's or no score over one that lets the offense move at will right into the endzone. When the game is out of reach most offenses are going to rack up yardage just to try and make the score respectable. So we gave up 400 yards in the air. We won the game by 25 pts. I'll take that every day and twice on Sunday. :bng:

I hear what you and others are saying. Only one problem..what happens when our offense isn't ON?

I'll tell you what happens..we lose to the Rams..that's what. This is what worries me the most. Do I really give a crap that Eli had 400 passing yards, NO. We won, that's what matters BUT we have seen this type of zone all year. Winning, losing whatever. It hasn't changed.

I am not going to just sit back and say, we won the game woohoo and then come back and whine when we lose for running the same scheme that we have all year. It's all good and great when the offense is full steam ahead but when it's not are you going to come back and act like you don't understand why our defense let us down?

I was logging on to start a thread...
"Remind me why we have Patrick Robinson again????"

This guy can't cover... can't tackle... can't jump routes and intercept... send him to Philly

dizzle88 12-11-2011 02:23 PM

cut him, i dont want a draft pick for him, he sucks

papz 12-11-2011 03:35 PM

Poor scheme. Jailbreak blitz with no safety help that was telegraphed. He deserves blame on that long pass, but that was a piss poor play.

No, I'm going to ask why our offense let us down. The defense has made multiple plays when we needed them to this year. All everyone sees are the yards given up and the big plays at inopportune times. We're 10-3 and on the verge of a division title. Once again, i'll take that all day every day and twice on Sunday's. ;)

open field tackles are not easy for anyone

especially corners trying to make a play on the ball and then trying to wrap up right away too

that was porter and robinsons biggest knocks coming out of college tho. they are aggressive but struggle making open field tackles

having said that, the style of defense we play kept the game close and only a few plays here and there really allowed the titans to move the ball.

almost every play we saw locker roll out because the coverage and pressure was so good that he had to create more time for his guys to get open.
