Best player on the Saints Defense....

Go ahead... say it... eat some more crow... there's only one special guy... maybe two... :bng:

3 #1 Picks on the DL and we still have a pop gun pass rush.
With the way our DL disappears when did Chris Angle must be out DL coach?
Hell, where is Canton when you need him?

alleycat_126 11-30-2011 05:26 PM

seriously, you think there's one right now!!!!! For me right this minute it's Will Smith he's has been playing well.

jnormand 11-30-2011 05:38 PM

Whatever FF! Our D Line rules! LMFAO!

In all reality I get more pressure in my pants from a fart then then our D Line gets on opposing QB's.

Will Smith? Really? Wow.... Think he could get a few ProBowl votes? :jkool:

strato 11-30-2011 05:57 PM

Will Herring!..

papz 11-30-2011 06:18 PM

Jabari Greer

AsylumGuido 11-30-2011 06:25 PM

Scott Shanle

jcp026 11-30-2011 06:31 PM

It has to be Greer, right? Our defense has definitely been a disappointment.

Danno 11-30-2011 06:44 PM

Based on 2011 so far...

1. Greer
2. Smith
3. Harper
4. Jenkins
5. Franklin
6. Robinson
7. Rogers
8. Vilma
9. Dunbar
10. Ellis
11. Tie - Galette, Jordan, Johnson, McBride, Porter, Shanle, Casillas

Are you guys kidding? Harper maybe the only one to garnish any PROBOWL votes.

But he's also hot and cold. Albeit mostly hot.

Smith is also hot and cold, so I could swap Smith/Harper easily.

I think through 11 games Greer has been the overall best player, but Smith and Harper are right on his ass, metaphorically speaking of course.

Hard to disagree with your logic again. Still, Harper shows up just about every game and makes plays. Ditto Greer. Will Smith is harder to peg.

Harper is on pace to shatter the sack record of the Saints from SS. :bng:

He's on pace to shatter the NFL sack record for a safety too. Or is that what you meant?

Is that what I meant? LOL

If he gets it, don't you think he will get some ProBowl Votes?

Harper, Shanle only 2 that are consistent.

lynwood 11-30-2011 09:45 PM

Greer

FireVenturi 11-30-2011 09:57 PM

Well one of them you got bang on!! Consistently Bad that is!!

saintfan 11-30-2011 11:29 PM

Me. I am the MVP of my living room.

nola_swammi 11-30-2011 11:29 PM

my vote greer

jeanpierre 11-30-2011 11:38 PM

Greer.

Harper, I've made my feelings clear about Harper; reminds me of the kid who scores a 60 on a test but has 20 "bonus" points - analogy translated: a safety with horrible coverage skills and a hittee who gets trucked more than a hitter; but he contributes with sacks and strips....

Smith is giving good effort, but is sliding due to age.

Jenkins seems lost this year; talent, skills are there - but he seems lost (Coach Williams, please step up)

Porter has slid back due to injuries, but he's still sticks his nose in there on screens and power sweep plays...

Zounds! Is anybody else worth mentioning.

Shanle has elevated his play as of late.

That's it.

Greer is our best defender right now...

strato 12-01-2011 12:16 AM

Bang a gong ..lets hope our D can get a groove like this

strato 12-01-2011 12:19 AM

In all reality Harper is the only one the Talkin Heads mention?

dizzle88 12-01-2011 04:39 AM

Easily Greer, he's the most consistent player on the D

Ashley 12-01-2011 03:47 PM

Greer or Harper.

harper......it shouldnt even be close

harper is one of the best safeties in the entire league and he doesnt even get the recognition he deserves from his own fan base

will smith is our defensive captain and rightfully so as hes the longest tenured defender on our team and still one of the better DEs in the league

vilma and greer are probably next behind harper and will smith then id have to go with ellis and shanle

i want you guys to realize something about our defensive line......we blitz more than any other team in the league and because of that, we face more max protects than any other team in the league. our pressures are up but our sacks will never be at the top of the league because teams know exactly what we are going to do every play.

because of the guys in our secondary like harper, jenkins, greer, porter, and robinson we are able to send so many guys at the QB. not only does it help us in coverage but it helps us dictate what kind of play the offense has to make

Cory9289 12-04-2011 01:59 AM

Harper and Greer are no doubt the most important players on our defense.

And about Harper getting trucked, what SS wouldn't get trucked on a Jacob's full blast open field tackle?

It seems Harper is good for at least 1 embarassing play a season. Last year, ran out of gas after an int and ran out of bounds and getting steamrolled on national tv by Brandon Jacobs last week.

Saints won both of those games, so whats your point?

Cruize 12-04-2011 07:41 AM

Brees. LOL. He's the best thing the defense has going for it.
