this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Crowell could take Pathon\'s spot IMO. If Horn and Stallworth both play like they\'re capable of, they will obviously be 1 and 2. Pathon has been so-so... if Crowell can step it up he could be number 3. Of course, ...

Saints Sign WR Germane Crowell!!!
This signing is completely no risk. Like BnB, I fell in love with this guy the year he blew up for 1300 yards. I was able to pick him up on my fantasy team that year. Since then, he has completely disappeared. Kinda like Marcus Robinson... until this year when he (Robinson) paired with a familiar passer (A. Wright) with whom he played in college (South Carolina).
Guess where Crowell played in college? Dat, I\'ve been extremely pleased with Pathon. If Donte could be the starter (like he\'s s\'posed ta), then Pathon is an above average number three. He\'s been very consistent for us the last two seasons (over 500 yards each year). .02 |

Crowell will be a number 3 receiver at best, but could be a number 2 given Stallworth\'s injury prone career. I think it is a descent pick up, but nothing mind blowing.

He was signed at 1 year/$535,000. He wasn\'t signed to take anyone\'s job, especially Stallworth, Horn, or Pathon. Don\'t run with the signing!
