Not taking anything away from Jenkins, he made a great stop but Johnson made a huge mistake, he had it without that juke. He's making way too much money to not know all he needs is inches for a first down. Jenkins is becoming very good with timing. Sometimes he'll come out of nowhere and make a great stop.

Jenkins led the team in tackles with 10 total, I believe...

I'm still not high on Jenkins after the past few games but he played better today. Although he is still in my dog house until he plays like I know he can play.

I'm sure people could point to a laundry list of missed tackles if they wanted to pick apart the games, but I think in general as a whole, the defense is getting much better at that basic, wrap-the-guy-up-by-the-legs-and-throw-him-to-the-ground type of tackling. I see a noticeable difference in recent games, compared to earlier in the year, or slow-mo replay of last year's Marshawn Lynch run etc. I think they are improving in the style or execution of their tackling. It's just a hunch but I seem to see less whiffing and guys flying around and missing, etc

Yes I agree. There are holes in the defense sure but overall these guys have been getting increasingly better and now is when its most needed.
Tuff game but we got another win! 2nd seed is just that much closer. |
