this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I keep trying to tell myself, "Be patient, there is still time." BUT..... Where are the stories about our interest in a good corner? Can anyone not cite our DB's as one key problem last year? With slow-mo Ambrose hanging ...

Where are the Corners?
I keep trying to tell myself, "Be patient, there is still time."
BUT..... Where are the stories about our interest in a good corner? Can anyone not cite our DB's as one key problem last year? With slow-mo Ambrose hanging all over the WRs to keep up, and Carter's slow and broken butt always on the bench, Thomas likely to leave us ----- WHERE ARE THE STORIES ABOUT US LOOKING AT FA CORNERS?! Please don't let us wait for th draft to try and solve that problem.....please.....please |

Where are the Corners?
You can forget about getting an established corner in here now. Washington screwed the pooch by giving Springs a $10 million dollar signing bonus, and he wasn\'t even close to being the top CB free agent. The Saints will not dish out that kind of money.

Where are the Corners?
Hey, I\'ll bet you the Saints starting lineup on D looks something like this:
Bellamy/Mitchell and Jones - we\'ll see if Mitchell can take that spot back. Thomas and Ambrose (Carter is cut) with Brown and whomever they draft as nickel and dime. Smith, Ruff, Rodgers (Hodge, Allen, and Grant still can\'t crack the lineup) Grant, Sully, Insert 1st Round DT drafted here, Howard. Any takers on that bet? |

Where are the Corners?
You could very easily be right on it. I\'m afraid of another Haslett draft. |

Where are the Corners?
My point was more that the defense wouldn\'t change. If I had to bet on our draft I\'d probably include an interior lineman, a TE or DE, a fourth round LB, and a sixth round corner.

Where are the Corners?
The wildly entertaining part of this is going to be the circular reasoning coming from the front office to explain their drafting.
1. You have to take the highest value player on the board. 2. You don\'t trap yourself into drafting for need. 3. You address need positions in free agency. 4. Oh right, we didn\'t address our needs in free agency... You know, I wouldn\'t be overly surprised to see us sign Warren Sapp later in FA though. I don\'t see him commanding elite money. Then we\'d have another DT on the roster. Of course, Sapp could start. |

Where are the Corners?
Mitchell/Jones Thomas/second-tier FA corner(hopefully Fernado Byrant)/Brown Rodgers/1st round draft pick(hopefully Vilma)/Hodge Grant/sully/FA DT(Brian Young?)/Howard |
