The "dirty" rap definitley cost him his pro-bowl selection IMO.
I'm sure several players left him off their vote entirely. But I also think that all of the zone coverage we played in the last several games hurt him too. He didn't blitz nearly as much and therefore didn't make all the ESPN highlite reels. I'm more excited about how he performed in coverage over the last 1/2 of the season than any superficial beauty contest recognition he could have received if he'd gotten a couple more sacks and broken Wilson's record. And being a pro-bowl alternate is no slap in the face as far as I'm concerned. It still means your viewed as a very very good player at your position. |
