656, you need to go to SR and invite that fan over here. I would like to tell him personally that if the unthinkable which shall not be named happens, that I WILL be rooting for the Lions throughout the playoffs. I do like Green Bay, but I don't like Aaron Rodgers, so I can not root for the Pack. Can't root for the Giants, won't root for the 49ers, hope the Falcons fall off a cliff, only team left to root for is the Lions.
edit: Wait a minute...What the hell are you doing on SR?! |

Great post, 656. I'm glad a bond has formed between fans of our teams. I got to really like the Lions because y'all used to regularly play Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. I'm a fan of anyone while they're playing Dallas. Also, as a high school teacher, presently at a boarding school, I taught Karl Bernard, who started in the Lions backfield years back, until he got hurt. There is a kid from Detroit in our boarding schoo right now, a great young guy who is a credit to the Motor City. You're team is up and coming -- enjoy the ride. It's a blast.

This is kind of like the 09 season when we had to go through the Cards, Vikings then the Colts. No rest, from one test to the next, it's what keeps you on the edge, keeps you sharp, not taking anything for granted because we know the Lions can score a lot of points if we lose concentration. We must keep our poise, concentration and intensity. We know what we want and that's a re-match with the Pack and we will not be denied. Keep looking over your shoulder Rogers, the SAINT ARE COMING!

Classy post. If it were not for the Saints I would route for Detroit - a great city - that deserves success - just not against us. I love Detroit as a city - and a team.
