He stepped up and made the play that the other 10 could not make.
Now that's team ball. When your moment comes, you've GOT to make the play. You can't whiff. The Saints have been making the plays and that has to continue. There are critical moments that add up during the game that change the outcome. Forces, touches, tips, extra efforts, sustained blocks are some of the little things. Being ready and "actually" recovering that fumble when it hits the ground, "actually" making the pick after putting yourself in position; those are bigger things. They each have to do their part when their moment comes. It's like two weeks ago when Colston wouldn't allow that guy to step in front of him to get a pick. It went down in the books as an incomplete pass and a simple break-up rather than a pick-6. The Bushrod play and others like it is how we get to kiss another trophy. |
