Defensive lineman Justin Smith sat in a dimly lit room with 49ers teammates last week and marveled at film of the New Orleans Saints’ offensive fireworks. His reviews confirmed the obvious: The Saints "do some pretty awesome stuff on offense."
But Smith also found a blueprint that could help the 49ers shut down record-setting quarterback Drew Brees on Saturday, when their worlds collide in a NFC playoff divisional-round game at Candlestick Park. "Defensively, we know we’re going to have to pressure Brees, hit him, make him uncomfortable," Smith said. "You know, one of the games they lost this year was to St. Louis, and that’s why (the Rams) won." Full article. 49ers |

The last time we played SAN FRANSISSY, we didn't have SPROLES and they broke REGGIE BUSH'S leg. We ended up winning by maybe 2 points that day. Even though the niners havent given up too much of anything other that what MARSHAWN LYNCH did to them, I REALLY believe with our passing attack, the play action and our 3 headed MONSTER backfield, We will be very productive on the GROUND AND POUND. BELIEVE THATT...... TWO DATT.............

Yeah the Rams pressured Brees but we should have ran the ball more. We only ran 19 times and threw 44 times. Now we are playing with a better run/pass ratio. We ran the ball 31 times Saturday night. Let the 49ers key on the pass we'll make them honest with the run real quick and then Drew will tear them up.

The niners were beat by Flacco, Romo, and a rookie QB in Arizona Skelton. All three of these games were lost due to mediocre passing games. Ricky Williams had a pretty good gain up the middle, and Ray Rice had one catch for 30 plus yards down the right side in the Ravens game. Each of these games featured tight ends that were getting most of the yards. I wonder what will happen when they go agains Graham, Sproles, Ivory, and Thomas, not to mention Colston who will definitely be singled out in the middle of the field atleast 3 times in this match up. Go back and watch the highlights of the games the niners lost. They really arent that impressive.
