I'm confused about the Saints/49ers
So I'm seeing a lot of sports media picking the 49ers, but then why are most of the sports articles asking if the 49ers can stop the Saints? Or what can they do to slow down the Saints? And how they need to water down the field. And why are the Saints favored by 3-1/2?
|
We're down South... they have all the media bias out there.
Hey remember when USC could play in the NFL? Being a +3.5 home dog is all that needs to be said... and that number is probably going to rise. |
Yep, every talking head is going to bring up the fact that we haven't won a playoff game on the road never mind the fact that we only played what 3 games on the road in our history. 2 of them in snowy Chicago and the debacle in Seattle where we went in thinking we were going to win just by showing up. I look for us to be very motivated in this one and win by 14.

They are just having hallucinations it's the 1980s.
|
We haven't won a road playoff game ever and all of our losses came on the road this season
Ppl that say we are a bad road team may not be right...but it's hard to prove them wrong |

We're from the SEC and they're from the PAC 10 so we're favored. Oh wait ... ;)

We've lost two road games in the playoffs under payton, and one was 5 years ago. Not exactly a huge sample size. Weak and irrelevant stat. As a road team this season, we're tied for 4th best in the NFL. |

If they do the obvious thing and pick the Saints across the board then who's going to get angry at whom? Maybe they rile up Canton and a few Niners fans, but that's about it. If they do the thing that is controversial then they get us all worked up and people jump on the internet and call such and such and so and so an idiot and people tune in to hear the idiot say the next ignorant thing. The short answer is money. LOL :bng: |

Theoretically the SB game was a road playoff game, which the Saints won. Also, it was an outdoor game as a reminder for all of those who claim that the Saints can't win outdoors.

Remember the Mike Bell slip. I think we learned what to do. |
Saints take this one 38-24.

The best offense to ever suit up against a good defense. The extra prep time and rest will help but it won't make them the greatest defense to ever suit up.
As for the field conditions, they have to play on the same field! Can someone explain to me how this is going to assist them getting pressure on Brees. It won't. |
I like when they talk trash. It makes it that much more enjoyable when we kick San. Frans. a$$. I got a feeling the talking heads picked wrong. Saints by15.

Ummm - weren't we on the road when we won...

I think it's stupid when ppl say we can't play on the road but there's some truth in what they say At the dome we are unbeatable...away we struggle a good deal more |

Oh, really?! I guess that might be why I put the word "theoretically" before the statement. |

I couldn't care less about LSU or any other college team or game for that matter, but I would only ask that you actually read the posts before commenting on them... I think that is considered a common courtesy around here. |

It's not considered an away game because neither team is playing at home Ppl consider us a weak road team for several reasons...none of which apply on a neutral field |

I'm not mad about anything... well I am about somethings, but none of those have anything to do with football, this board or you. One of the reasons why people do think that the Saints are a weak road team is that they consider the Saints to be an "Arena League" team, which can only succeed under the roof and on the artificial turf it provides. I think that both of these questions can be answered (at least to some extent) by looking at the SB game, which was played away from the confines of the Superdome on an "outdoor" stadium with natural grass as the surface. If you refuse to comprehend that you're entitled to hold the perception you prefer. |

The superdome is the biggest home field advantage in sports and when ur on top...there's only one way to go when you leave the done and that's down We score about half as many points away from home and drew throws twice as many picks away I don't think it's necessarily a direct correlation but I don't think its purely coincidence either |

Their field or our field it's not going to matter Payton and our Saints are on a mission, San. Fran. might slow us down at first {I doubt it} but it want be enough. We have handled every D we have faced except the Rams and I'm sure Payton would have the answers if they try to mimic the way the Rams played us. Just keep the faith and all will be well. The Lions worried me more than the 9'ers do. Keep the Faith!!

Look I don't know what your agenda is exactly, but I've only been responding to your comments on my posts, and it seems like when I answer to your comments you just ignore them and come up with new additional arguments, which were never part of the original debate. Here's a recent post from the 49ers thread from a user who clearly isn't a Saints' fan. Quote:

Nor, as usual, I don't see the relevance or correlation to what's being discussed. |

Nah. Choupique is actually entertaining...sometimes. LOL

It has not been raining out here at all. It has been one of the driest fall/winters I've seen. So, unless they water the field, it should not be wet, at all.
I saw the us play last year at Candle Stick. We had no problem with the field what so ever. |
