how do you "stack the box" with 7 guys? they play a 3-4 defense. unless they're in nickel every play has 7 guys in the box. in fact this goes for every teams base defense.

You cheat up to play the run. "Stacking" may not be the correct term, but you get the point.

i really don't get the point. the linebackers are already "in the box". how would they cheat up? the OLB's play on the line of scrimmage just like every other 3-4 defense. and the MLB's play 5-6 yards off the ball, again just like every teams MLB. your really not making any sense.

The defense is focusing on run 1st, then pass, like every defensive alignment can do. They can move closer to the line as the ball is about to be snapped or stay pu or drop back.

All teams do it when expecing the run, 3-4 or 4-3, it doesn't matter.
