I don't like two things...
1) San Francisco brought the wood and caused turnover after turnover. We didn't and it cost us a trip to Indianapolis.
2) We cannot create a pass rush with a defensive line and an occasional linebacker. That's because we draft a lot of safeties, linebackers, and even cornerbacks who can be plugged in and out at various positions and can fill multiple roles. And who are not all that great at their primary assignments. Adequate at everything, excellent at nothing. We saw linebackers, defensive linemen, and SAFETIES (Great God) getting beat reapeatedly. If GW could just fill each position with a player who is excellent at that position, I suspect our defense would not collapse in the face of a shrewd offensive coordinator. |

Jenkins is a great player, I love the kid, he will only get better.
But what are you going to do when Harper has the most sacks on the team? We need a fierce front 7 that gets after the run and the QB better, and leave our outside guys to practice catching footballs and work on their man coverage. |

Time for another burial ceremony of all of our pass accomplishments and get hungry again. Act like we never won it. Like we're still fighting 45 years of history. Like a half million Katrina victims are still counting on the team to bring some cheer back to New Orleans. |

What really needs to happen is move Harper to SLB (he would be a little small, but it is his natural position) and draft a SS. Oh, and hope like hell someone else offers to pay Greg Williams' salary next year.

The niners were on their own 30 with 40 seconds left. No one should be left on an island in that situation. I agree that Jenkins was outplayed by Davis but Jenkins should have been back in coverage keeping receivers in front of him, not matched up in man with the only offensive player who was playing well.

I really thought that MJ was going to be Sharper Lite but he just hasnt panned out. I really don't know what to do but I suspect quddus will be our new starting FS next year.

I'm thinking the same thing, Jenkins may be a #1 pick but he does not play like one, I'm not seeing the up-side of his game and haven't for a while.

Jenkins played awesome at the end of 2010 and it made you think he had a couple picks and would get even better in 2011 - almost as you said "turning into darren sharper"
At this point I don't know if he'd be better suited to SS, but then roman excels because of how GW plays him to his strengths and I wouldn't want to lose that. Jenkins got burned by CJ last week ( yeah I know he's the best wideout in the NFl) for 210 yards and 2 TD's This week he gave vermin davis 180 yards and 2 TD's We need a safety that understands the coverage more but most of all we need a damn pass rush without sending 7 frickin players after the QB. Look at what spags did with new yorks front 4, if GW leaves I'd love for him to come here |
