Nah, that hit wasn't legal. San Fran is a big market team, so the league has a financial interest in them doing well, so for that reason, I wouldn't be surprised if Gooddell says no fine. But the fine won't even matter. We needed the freakin' automatic 1st down!
New rule: Illegal hits in the post season that would result in a suspension in the regular season, you lose a 3rd round pick to the opposing team! |

Afraid it was legal. Once a catch is made and the receiver establishes himself as a runner, there is no helmet to helmet penalty. It is only illegal on QB and defenseless receiver.

PT was out like a light after that hit. Losing him seriously hurt our offense. Even with that, the 10 points off of turnovers was the downfall.

What about the 49'ers. It was ugly. Nasty. Low . Cheap shot. If Saints had done that, I would not have changed my opinion of it either. Legal or not, cheap. The 49'er who did this, seems he should have had a concussion too. Concussions are not funny. |
