this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; He runs a pretty good offense hey wait who's on D? Good bye. He had 2 chances to hold them in the last 4 minutes and couldn't deliver. Let's get someone in who's going to pay to the entire defense ...

Thanks KingC. Rumors , rumors...There is not his official word yet, but this seems all but a done deal now. This case seems very true. Saints out. No reason not to have an official comment now. No one comments on coaching changes during the end of the season or Playoffs, if a team is that far.
Now Saints, out, I bet official comment is coming as soon as this week. |

2009 was the best iteration of the defense made up of young and aging talent. When Sharper wasn't able to return, letting Fujita go, and Vilma showing age, this defense has been a sub-par version of its 2009 self. The Saints must make changes on D to have a chance at championships. End of story. |

I think losing our secondary coach to Denver after '09 hurt more than Sharper not coming back.
And Vilma is undersized anyway, relies on speed to make plays. Too bad the speed really isn't there anymore... |

My only question to the rest of the fan base is: Can you really blame poor tackling, blown coverage, and piss poor penetration at the line of scrimmage on the coach? Our guys can only be coached so much, its up to the players to hit there assignments each time they are on the field. Finger pointing and playing the blame game isnt going to fix anything. If you are on that field and you are getting paid more money than 97% of the rest of America you had better play like you are the best at what you do!!!!! A coach is only as good as the players he puts on the field. Just look at the 21 irrefutable laws of leadership written by John Maxwell. Do you think any of the leaders we had in the history of America played the blame game? I honestly believe that GW's schemes would have worked better if our players had more heart. Too many times it looked like our defenders would just give up on the plays.

To answer your question.....YES. No other coach in the league would have called that defense with 1:30 remaining & Alex Smith having to drive 85 yards to win it. All you have to do is keep everything in front of you. A field goal can only tie it at best.

Can someone tell me which line to get in to shake his hand "Goodbye"?
DVR'ed the game (By the way, is the BEST way to watch a game) just sickening to watch the defense. I said repeatedly back before SP got here; COACHING is VERY IMPORTANT! Oh and by the way..... GET RID OF SHANLE! This guy blows donkey! I don't understand why he keeps getting extentions. Is he paying the Saints money, not to cut him? Thanks for the first couple year GW.... but you sir, got lazy and predictable. |
