Peyton Manning:DONE!??!
Wow,is this legit ya'll?
It's a sad day for the NFL if it's true.:???: |
link?
|
Sure looks like he is going to play:
Peyton Manning of Indianapolis Colts expects to play again, no timing on decision - ESPN |
I'm looking D.I heard from a non-credible/credible source that she heard it on the news.
|
Sorry for bringing another thread on this.SF delete it need be dude. Thanks for the info fellas.
PETE got a little jumpy!i've been trying to keep up with his NFL fate.I'm hoping he's able to finish his career on his own terms. |
No worries Pete! Inquiring minds want to KNOW already.
As for me I think he plays in 2012, but I don't think it will be with Indy. |
I don't think be plays again, the doctors have no idea when his kneck will be healed. I hope he retires before he turns into Earl Campbell
|
I saw him giving an interview on the NFL Network this evening. He is not done.
I think he should be done if he is smart. He went on to say that doctors say he is healing remarkably well. Yahoo news earlier this morning http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu...im_irsay013012 I think the guy should leave a winner instead of trying to stay in beyond his expiration and going out like Brett Farve. Go out a winner now and still on his terms instead of a loser. |
I hope he plays I have him as one of my "Keepers" in FFL!

I don't think he will be with Indy either. They are going for a youth movement and gonna hang there hat on Luck. There is no way they are going to pay him the 28 mil that he is suppose to get this year. To much uncertainty with the rehab. |
In his mind, I'm sure he hasn't forgotten Cooper's career-ending condition. I think he will take every caution into consideration before playing again. I hope he makes the correct decision...I don't want to see him go out with a severe permanent injury.
|
Only Peyton know. He'll do the right thing.
|
He's done in Indy thats for sure, unless there is some miracle happening in the next few weeks . Then he will go to the highest bidder as hes not that fussed about winning at this point in his career .
|
I really hope that I am wrong, but I do believe Peyton Manning is done as an NFL player. I actually believe the stories that broke a couple of days ago that he is not regaining his arm strength, versus how good he feels today. I think he made his statements so that emphasis is not placed on him during this week. He knows this week belongs to Eli, and he is doing everything he can to keep it that way. In the end, however, I do believe we will get an announcement out of Peyton that he is hanging it up.

Maybe he can tutor Matty Lice in how to properly run the "no-huddle" offense without relieving oneself every time there´s even a hint of pressure. |
Maybe if his dad can coach him up on that underhand pass he use to throw every now and then...it could add a year or two to his career.
|
This is the sad part of business in the NFL. But if it wasn't for that then we'd probably NEVER have won a SB.
If he ends up on any other team I am sure there is going to be a lot of people really cheering for him to win another ring. If he never plays again... it would just be a very sad time. Unless we get him as offensive coordinator. LOL> |

Yes, I know he's getting better care and medicine than I could ever hope for. It is not impossible but I just can't see how he can come back from this. Plus, in case you haven't noticed, he is all neck! :) But like he and the doctors stated the actual procedure has already healed, it's the nerve regeneration that is in question...as with myself. There is no telling on how much or if it will ever get back to "prior damage" state. I wish him all the luck in his rehabilitation, because I know how he feels and it sucks! |

No matter what happens to him he will be in the H.O.F. and remembered as one of the greatest qb.'s to suit up and play the great American sport of football.
|
Kryptonite, that was a lot. Glad you are better and yet, you still have a ways to go.
I do not think it will be sad or anything negative or sad if PM makes the right choice and retires from the NFL on the field that is. He has done it all. H.O.F to come. Records stand. There are places for PM in the NFL as game commentator , front office for team (GM) , or coaching. Absolutley. Some NFL players leave the NFL either broke or staying beyond their expiration date. Well, PM comes from a wealthy two-parent home so he understands about finances. That is not what is going to be his downfall. Staying in the game too long could be a problem. Think Bret Farve. That NFC game with the Saints ...did his eyes really roll back when he got those legal, in regualtion hits? Remember Kenny Stabler. Hou-hat, good point about CManning. Things like what he had a gentic so there could be something there in reference to PM's healing . |
I heard he may be a Jet next year.

As for Manning's situation, I don't know how he feels about Irsay but I think that he has been just awful since the end of the season. His idiotic comments (calling the man that brought the Colts fame, fortune and a beautiful new stadium a "politician?") and his desire for attention with Twitter makes him look like a buffoon and an ass. Manning deserves better treatment than that. I hope that Peyton comes back because not many athletes have his combination of size, athleticism, intelligence, and competitiveness. He's one of the best ever to play the most difficult position in sports. |
