... and if you take Avril under the tag, my understanding is it costs you two 1st round draft choices ... he's good & I like him, but that's pretty steep. If anything, it'll help the Lions hold onto him & make a deal.

And the Saints don't even have a 1st rounder this year, and they may not have one next year either depending on what Goodell does. I don't think Avril's worth two 1st rounders, I'd place Campbell above Avril in that regard, but I don't know if even he'd be worth two 1st rounders with the additional huge contract he would demand. |

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find many players worth two 1st rounders, that's almost like Herschel Walker-trade level. I think they put that stipulation on there to promote the player staying with the team for at least one final season.
