I've changed my mind. Knowing that what they were doing was ILLEGAL, I'm sure the defensive staff and players weren't just going around and BRAGGING about it whenever possible.
So, honestly, it's possible nobody knew except for GW and the defensive players involved. |

As for Loomis, I'm so sure he was going to waste all his time on an internal investigation. Probably spoke to GW and he denied it. The more I think of it, I'm putting the blame on Gregg Williams as he was pretty much given total control of the defense. AND ... if the Bounty was going on in 2011, then how effective is it? There must have been a LOT of money left in that pool of money after 2011... the defense really didn't knock too many players out all season long. |
I'd also like to place the blame on GW and the defensive unit alone, while keeping the rest of the franchise on the clear, but I just can't believe that nobody else knew about it within the franchise.
As it has been reported numerous times during recent days, this type of a thing happens in almost every team and it has been a time honored tradition in the NFL probably as long as the league has existed. So, wouldn't it be only logical that SP, ML, Mr. Benson all at least suspected that something like this could be happening within the organization? While this doesn't mean that they were directly responsible for the activity, they also didn't do anything to make sure that something like it couldn't/didn't exist within the franchise. That is where we come to the negligence part of the accusations, which is something the league and Goodell are going to investigate closely when figuring out who and into what degree they are going to formally indict somebody. As the US law system is heavily based on precedents, it leads me to believe that they are going to indict both individuals and the franchise - as it was with the Spygate - which is why I believe that there is no way the Saints are able to just direct all of the responsibility on GW. Also, the fact that GW came out publicly and apologized for his "participation" in this activity might make the league be more lenient towards him and go after the franchise instead - it'll make a bigger statement. |

Sharper anialates Kevin Faulk 09. Warner vs McCray 09 ( deemed legal at the time ) by the way probably un called for given the final score. Farve all day ( This is probably the one with the most scrutiny ) But three years I don't remember seeing any stretchers, or is it just me. ( Tracy Porter, and Courtney Roby ) any body else. |

I wonder if it was considered a "stretcher hit" if the hit caused the Saint player to injure himself in the process? Maybe that is why they had to write down the rules - in order to avoid these gray areas? |
