The source said Williams will talk with NFL general counsel Jeff Pash and security officials Joe Hummel and Jeff Miller. The summit was termed a "meeting" rather than a "hearing," according to the source.
The parties will continue to discuss Williams' violations in New Orleans and review his time as a coach in Tennessee, Buffalo, Washington and Jacksonville. Since the NFL first revealed the results of its investigation Friday, reports have surfaced about alleged "bounty" programs in Buffalo and Washington, though players who worked with Williams in Tennessee and Jacksonville have denied he used such a system with them. Potential discipline, which likely will be significant, isn't expected to be discussed with Williams at Monday's meeting. And Williams, according to a league source, has been a "stand-up guy" through this phase of the process, after being more evasive with NFL officials in the past. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello declined to comment about the meeting Sunday when reached by NFL.com and NFL Network. Aiello did tell The Associated Press earlier Sunday that the league plans to keep looking at plays from recent seasons in the wake of the findings against the Saints. Aiello said in an email that the NFL will be "addressing the issues raised as part of our responsibility to protect player safety and the integrity of the game." No punishments have been handed out, but they could include suspension, fines and loss of draft picks. The Washington Post reported Sunday that the penalties might be "unprecedented," according to a person familiar with the deliberations. If player safety is "their prime concern", then they need to be looking at the entire league, as a whole, instead of threatening to lay the hammer down on us.... So players shouldn't do what their coaches tell them to do now? They should go over their heads, outside of the locker room, when something like this happens? So not only is Goodell turning the league into a bunch of pansies, he also wants them to be rats as well...... Well that explains to me, alot about his character....

I have a funny suspicion its someone from the Saints front office!!!
Go after Williams in some sort of pay back. I mean going to the Rams you know he is going to keep doing what he is doing and why not protect Brees, now by give up Williams. I think it could very well be Benson himself. I don't have a problem with it. |

Goodell is a weasel.... He has single handedly, brought the game way down, from this "high standard" that he keeps claiming is his goal.... Williams, I love what he did for us in 09, but have been constistantly dissappointed in him since.... He would probably sell his own mother out, to avoid being exiled from the NFL.... My point is this.... If this crap happened EVERYWHERE ELSE HE COACHED, then it is pretty damn obvious, who the mastermind behind it is.... Punishing everyone else, because he's an idiot? I honestly wish he would have gotten a head coaching job, right after the superbowl win now.... Good riddance with him gone.... He just put a huge smudge on our superbowl trophy as far as i'm concerned.... Not because of guys hitting each other... For the fact that I think, and I may be wrong, that he's behind this entire thing....

Unprecedented penalties? The media is dispicable! They sound like they want the most severe penality possible for us. I hope the NFL is investigating every team in the league, just to be fair. What we did is wrong however if we are not the only ones then I want everyone, who has broken the rules, to be treated the same way. I can't help but getting the feeling the media is after our hide because there is jealousy about our sucess. With the exception of 09 our defense has been poor, but yet our offense wins games. It is difficult to keep focused on the 2012season with everything that is going on. I hope this makes the team stronger & more determined than ever to win it all.
