Hey Pat,

You know what's funny to me? Everyone in the media wants to lower the boom on the Saints while virtually every player who's been asked, offensive and defensive alike, have, to a man said, "you know, it's not as bad as the media is making it out to be" and "it has been going on forever and every team does it". If the men risking the most (and they are risking lifetimes more than you and the media at large) don't have a problem with it, why is your focus so hard line the other way? Do you have a horse in this race beyond sensationalism Pat? How about Clayton? Do I already know the answer? I think I do...

Just makes me think two things:

1. The media is a tool of the league in this case or is at least trying to milk this off season story for all it's worth (as usual)

and/or

2. The league, guilty of promoting to this day the toughest and most violent of its past on it's own Television Network - the very thing it is condemning so vigorously today - is posturing in some sort of preemptive way because it's under the gun from so many ex players claiming they were abused by the league.

This is clearly hypocrisy at it's best. The media is more interested in the big hit than the big touchdown. The league has built an empire off the very thing it's shaming today.

If what the players are saying is accurate (and we can be reasonably sure their accounts are accurate) then why is the media (you and Clayton in particular among others) on such a witch hunt?

Are you guys the 'media' by definition, or are you simply an extension of the NFL marketing machine? Be honest. I promise not to tell...
