Stop hatin! Moss is a beast if he went out and preformed well then give him a deal. The media just like they do with this "bounty" bs is trying to assassinate his character. Randy Moss is 2nd best Wr of all time! Yeah I said it! He is top 5 statistically in every catagory.

TBH I think Moss can be handled in the Saints locker room. Brees to Moss would be a great show.
When he gets the ball ofcourse... |

Gawd I hope they have the common decency to gimme a reach around.

Bobby Hebert was saying he tore it up today on WWL. Hope he performs during games as well as he did today, and hopefully he will be a team player...

Randy Moss...Lit it up... I see what you did there. Well played.:) |
Dude, if we sign Randy and somehow keep Colston and Brees....we will be virtually unstoppable on offense
|
Imagine some poor nickel corner covering motivated and healthy(mentally ) Randy Moss... the thought is very very appealing.

Usually I'd be a little skeptical about this type of signing but with everything that has happened in the last couple days I say we go for it and sign him. With the upcoming penalties and a tough cap situation, we're going to need to roll the dice on some guys if we want to win a Super Bowl.

Randy Moss impresses Saints in workout
Randy Moss may have to get accustomed to wearing black and gold very soon.
League sources tell sportsNOLA.com that Moss had an off-the-charts workout at the Saints facility this morning. The 35-year old Moss reportedly perfomed the 40-yard dash in the 4.39 to 4.4 range and ran routes while hauling in nearly 50 passes. One source described Moss as being more impressive than anticipated, saying that he is in great shape. Moss spoke with Saints officials, including Mickey Loomis and Sean Payton, after the workout and both sides were encouraging to one another. The sources confirm that there is a strong chance of the two sides coming together on a deal that would make Moss a Saint in 2012. Randy Moss impresses Saints in workout |
a 4.4 40 at 35...sign him for cheap, and cut him as soon as he becomes unmotivated and cancerous...
|
Why the hell not! This season has already started out a circus, might as well keep it going.

There was also a statement that surfaced (I noticed my Editor at WhoDatDish said it also) that the Saints were going to offer Moss a contract in the coming days. I just spoke to Kevin Spain of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He has informed me at this time there has been no verification that the New Orleans Saints have intent to offer WR Randy Moss a contract in the coming days. |
He still has a few more teams to vist.

I have no doubt Randy Moss is in great shape and has prepared himself for off-season workouts. I'm not surprised he can run routes and catch passes in a workout setting as good as anyone in the league...
But, he's 35. If I could make a living playing flag football, I would play till I was 50, but when 200lb 20yr olds are hitting you at full speed, somewhere around early to mid 30's the human body doesn't tolerate that kind of punishment to allow you to maintain a high level of play from week to week. I keep thinking about Jerry Rice, he got in few good years after age 35, maybe Randy can too, but the odds tell us that that's the exception and not the rule. I'd rather take a chance on a younger player than roll the dice with an aging superstar with a potential diva attitude. |
After reading all of comments I lean toward bringing the guy in here. Must be the team knows the probable fate of Colston or Meachem otherewise why bother. But if we were not to lose one or more of our recievers I see no point in it.

SportsNOLA.com reports there is a "strong chance" of free agent Randy Moss signing with the Saints after Tuesday's impressive workout.
In "great shape," Moss reportedly touched base with Saints GM Mickey Loomis and coach Sean Payton after the "off-the-charts" workout. "Both sides were encouraging to one another," according to sportsNOLA.com, after Moss clearly exceeded expectations. With Marques Colston and Robert Meachem threatening to leave free agency, the Saints appear to be in the driver's seat for Moss. Source: sportsNOLA.com |
Maybe Randy hasn't aged like a normal player... because of all the plays he took off, his body might only be 29 years old in football years :-)
|
Hey, if Kenny Chesney is worth a training camp invite, then there's nothing wrong with working out Moss. Right?

I think most would agree Moss is not a bad player, not even at his age. But his emo brakedowns have killed the teams he was in ... Just picture this : Since his forte is the 9 , he would be a 3rd read for the qb,past the shallow route 1st and 2nd receiver .The qb reads 1,passes to 2 cause he was opened and safer than a long pass to Moss . Moss comes back in the huddle and starts yelling : give me the ball ! give me the ball! give me the ball ! . Thats Randy Moss .
|
Well......I'll say this.....He's still better than Devery Henderson & Robert Meachem. Just saying...... ;-)

Until he discovers that the ball isn't going o be thrown his was alll of the time. We don't need a Pimma Donna. He would have to be just another player Brees throws the ball too. |
lose Devery or Meachem...only one of them though. Sign Colston and Moss. Then when we play the Failclowns and Moss catches a TD I hope he does this to the crowd

I'm really on the fence with this guy regardless of who he'd play for. |
I'm much more comfortable with him playing for someone else's team, not mine. I know what he can do from all those years in Minnesota. Dude tore our lions UP!
If we weren't set at WR, I'd say bring him in for a look. He knows the offense and was extremely successful in it as a Viking. |

by each day at my neighbors house. then my neighbors wife ended up pregnant, which might have been joyous, except that my neighbor had a vasectomy. I disagree. The mere fact that we gave him the time of day, knowing his history, reeks of desperation, and also sends the message that character doesnt really matter. I want guys I can root for. Otherwise I would've been a Cowboys fan in the 90's. Randy Moss is the Singing Frog. On MNF, you get "Hello My Baby Hello My Darlin Hello My Ragtime Gaaal." Then, when it really comes down to the crunch, when you really need him, you get "....crooaaak." I'd rather have Lance Moore in the middle on third down and 4. We can win just fine with good guys, who will catch in the middle AND make TD's. Pay Marques Colston. |
even if they loose Colston and Meachem, I still don't want Moss on this team, hopefully either one of them both somehow come back and all this is just another rumor that dies down

Is there anyone that can cover him in the NFC South when they have to also worry about Grambeaux, Lance Moore, Henderson, Sproles, etc? Has he learned some expensive lessons the last couple of years? Is he now really motivated as a result? Will he accept an incentive laden cap friendly contract? Is he the best option in the short term in light of Colston's and Meachem's likely departures for fatter contracts? The jury is still out, but methinks not for long. We shall see.
|
I think this will be a good pick up... as long long as he leaves the diva at the door. And if the money is right.
