....Accorsi told PFW yesterday that the team is in competition to sign another free agent this week, though he would not say who the player was or what position he played. The player is believed to be DT Norman Hand, who met with the team yesterday and passed his physical. Hand would be the team’s third D-lineman to sign with the team, joining Fred Robbins and Martin Chase

Hand will earn base salaries of $660,000 (2004) and $900,000 (2005). He can earn a $100,000 workout bonus for 2005 and another $1 million in escalators based on playing time.

On April 28th 2003 Pasquarelli wrote (when Hand was traded from NO to Seattle):
Under the new contract, agent Drew Rosenhaus said Hand will earn base salaries of $1.8 million for 2003 and $3 million for 2004. He will receive a $200,000 reporting bonus for this season.

His contract with the Saints called for base salaries of $3.9 million in 2003 and $4.5 million in 2004.
His attitude cost Norman good money. The Giants won\'t be happy with him either - at least not in the second part of the season.

I don\'t think it\'s his attitude. I think it\'s his propensity for jamming handful after handful of chicken wings in his mouth. Big Wiggle baby!
