Oh, and Manning re-structured. Re-structuring doesn't mean salary cut, it is a mere re-shuffling of when Manning gets the money. Matter of fact, according to the NY Daily News, the 9 mil is now guaranteed, which actually works out better for Manning. He may get it now upfront in the form of a bonus, or just spread it along a couple of years. |

Hope Brees stays with us and yes he should be pissed. Why for gods sake should he have been paid less than Vick and the rest not even in the top ten. Trade him never especially to Dallas. Need to have this cleared up before training camp. Think Payton is going to take a pay cut? I think not. The team screwed him with the tag and I think not only about the money it is the thought of the whole deal that stinks. I can see the tag being used at times but not to your leader that guy you take care of period.

The Saints were forced to place the tag on Brees because he turned down the afore mentioned contract offers, he didn't get screwed, but the Saints did because they could no longer place the tag on some other FA. |

Why trade for draft pics that Goodell is going to take away?
Or actually trade someone for draft pics that Goodell can take away so we can maintain our present draft pics? |

Wait until he takes the draft pic(s) and THEN trade for some. That way we shove it right back up his azz. LOL
And yes, I'm sure the rules of our punishment won't allow for that, but sure sounds sweet doesn't it? |

I agree Structure is everything and they should not have loaded it so much at the end. Not sure how the signing bonus would affect that or if they could do more there. They gave Smith a big signing bonus that does not count against the cap maybe because he was under a long term deal already. Force the other non producers on the team to do the same or let them go to make it work. I personally think it was time for them to take care of him that's all. Without Brees or someone like him we will not win very much anyway with this team.

After looking closely at the deal I think Brees could give in some also. Think others will have to restructure to make it happen like others are saying. I think it will happen I do not need to kick the dead horse anymore.

Redskins acquired the No. 2 overall pick in exchange for three first-round picks, including No. 6 overall this year, and a future second-round selection.
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports that St. Louis and Washington will exchange first-round picks this year. The Rams will get two more future first-rounders, likely in 2013 and 2014. The Redskins are now positioned to draft Baylor QB Robert Griffin, or Stanford QB Andrew Luck if the Colts pull a fast one at No. 1. More to come. Source: Jay Glazer on Twitter |
