Also, another "problem" pertaining to this is that the NFL is making so much profit that it is only logical that the players want an increasing part of that profit i.e. higher salaries, because - after all - they are playing a vital role in the whole success of the league.

I think the salaries will keep increasing for all positions, and the new TV deal that begins in the 2014 season will facilitate that trend quite nicely. But at some point the salaries and salary budgets will increase to the point that the owners will no longer accept it and a lockout will ensue.

After a missed season of play, a new understanding is found between the owners and the players, which will reduce all base salaries across the board, and then the whole thing will start all over again.
