this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; There is actually a HUGE difference between requesting a meeting with the commish, and being ordered to come to New York like Gregg Williams was....

I agree with you Bro. Listening to Schefter talk on ESPN today you would of thought we were called to the commissioners office. Of course ESPN would say that because that makes for a more interesting story. Obviously Schefter hasn't come back on and said that we requested the meeting, that would mean he couldn't throw us under the bus again. I know a lot of people have been irritated by certain writers and reporters over the last week (Florio, King, Bayless, etc.), but for me Schefter has been the most annoying. Every time he talks about the Saints there's a certain pleasure in his voice you can hear when he talks about the punishment we're going to get. His arrogance and smugness on this situation has really changed the way I view him as a reporter.

I'd bet anything that they are trying to make their case about the pay for play not being directed towards illegal plays on the field, or at least them not having any knowledge of that.
