Man the gloom is fading slowly but surely!Come on Nicks sign on the dotted line ................................. and protect our QB that Mickey is about to lock in!
Thank God!
It will be great having him back on the field this year. Sweet. That's some good news. Now let's go get Carl Nicks and keep Drew upright.
Best news I've heard all offseason! Slowly but surely life is getting back to normal, what a relief.
Cautiously optimistic about nicks at this point. Still think he's going to test the waters of free agency at the very least, but getting colston back in the fold softens the potential blow, in my mind anyway |

Wife bought me a Lance Moore last year before he signed. What a relief. Things are looking up. Have Benson sign Loomis to a new 6 year deal. |
The Saints have secured the services of receiver Marques Colston with a five-year, devil-in-the-details $40 million contract. So now lock up Pro Bowl guard Carl Nicks before 4:00 p.m. ET?
“I don’t think so,” a source with knowledge of the situation told PFT. On Monday, Nicks received what he described on Twitter as a “respectable” offer from the Saints, via Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. The Saints continue to be concerned about investing too much money in the guard position, given the contract given last year to Jahri Evans. And Nicks continues to want to become the highest-paid guard in the game. With Colston done, Nicks still may be gone | ProFootballTalk If Nicks ends up staying with the Saints, don’t expect it to happen until after he hits the market. Of course, once Nicks hits the open market, the chances of staying could be even smaller. We’re hearing that the Buccaneers and Bears could be chasing Nicks, if/when he hits the market. |
Yeah that's awesome news! Colston never gets the league wide recognition he deserves but man he knows we as saints fans appreciate him.
Thanks colston, here's to staying a saint for life!! |

thats cause he has 0 seperation skills/ speed...but hey...you dont need that on this team |

There may be better individual performers, but I don't see a better combination nowhere else in the league. |

correcto my friend...just imagine if we had a larry fitzgerald, andre or calvin johnson though... |
Excellent news.
I saw the news earlier and was really happy. I truthfully thought we would lose him, but that was dealing with the prospect of signing Nicks. Colston is smart to have stayed, I am sure he realizes that Drew helps to make him what he is. Good signing!
I, too have long wished for a tall, speedy, reliable deep threat to line up opposite colston. I know our offense isn't exactly hurting for more playmakers, but if we're talking wishlists that'd be near the top of mine. Along with a linebacker corps that actually shows up for the games :/
People that are wrapped up in this bounty thing, and that are salivating over these suspensions, need to remember, if there are any, they will all be on the defensive side of the ball, not the offensive.... And we are not really known for defense anyway right? They don't know us at all.....
Thank you Breesus! Who Dat!
Confirmed!!!!!

A bit more than the $7M/year Colston was supposedly looking for, but, regardless, it's great that they were able to re-sign him. I doubt he would've gotten much more from the open market, and he definitely would've seen his numbers drop with another team. One down, many more to go. :-) |
Great news!! I was not looking forward to seeing him catch for another team at all. Glad he is staying put.
Yes one down come on Nicks
Didn't see him leaving at all. Who else would have been our #1? Shows you the type of person he is... he could have been to a larger market to play and get more recognition, but he decided to stay here and just continue to do what he does. Perform.
What a true professional Colston is, didn't say anything through the media, just went about his business quietly and it paid off.
