I certainly hope this is not how it ends.
Benson already has interims Carmichael/Spagnuolo in camp.
He gets to keep Payton's $8 mil, share an extra $2 mil with the interims,
and then let Payton pick up where he left off.
There is a certain loyalty that's woefully missing in today's NFL.
Sticking with who brung ya would go a long way to rectify that for this organization.
Things would take a drastic turn if Benson takes the out route with Sean Payton.

I agree, you are never to old to learn, and I'd bet you another bottle of Johnny Walker Blue, Sean's learning a little humility right about now. He will overcome it, it's in his DNA. Stay strong, hold the line!

Just think of all the new formations and plays he'll be able to draw up with his free time...

Sean Payton won't have to buy a single meal or drink in New Orleans for this whole year, if not ever again. Hell, if I were his landlord I would cut his rent in half as well. If I know the New Orleans community, they will take care of him until he is back on his feet.

Goodell gets the final word on all appeals, and it is in their contract that they can not seek judicial recourse.

I am hoping, like in the case of Rapestberger... The big punishment was meant to stifle the crowds.. and near week 8 Payton and Loomis's suspensions are lifted.... When things quiet down a bit.

I really hope that is how it all works out in the end.

Imagine if SP will be forced to sit out the whole season, and then when Goodell examines GW's suspension a year from now - like it was stated that he would - Goodell would decide to let GW back into the league once again.

That would suck big time! SP and GW basically serving the same sentence for totally different roles in this whole mess. I know it's very unlikely that would happen, but who knows what will happen when Goodell is involved.

Looks like from the reading, he was in the wrong. Just has to take his medicine and come back stronger.

You think Sean was intense now, just wait till he comes back after being gone a year, IMO Benson will take Sean back with open arms and it will be business as usual come 2013
