My gut feeling is that Parcells may turn it down. Especially since all the hoopla has hit the TV and internet before they even had a chance to sit down and talk. Parcells is not a media guy at all and this situation would be a media fiasco

I really like this idea! Parcells will be basically "babysitting" and honoring the system Payton has in place. The OC and DC can concentrate on their jobs and you have experience providing a guiding hand. For Parcells, it's only a one year gig....he ain't going to need to put his stamp on the team.

It looks like the "cleanest dirty shirt" to me!

Do you really think that Parcells can stomach a player treating him like the substitute teacher? Talking back and shooting spit balls at him, knowing that his days are numbered? We would just have to see how this pile washes out.

I like the idea of Parcells coming on board for one year. He holds players accountable and will have them playing hard. This would allow Carmichael to focus just on the offense and Spags just on the defense. The head coach is going to have a lot on his plate this year, bringing in an experienced guy like Parcells would be a smart move.

I like this move. Think about it, he's got tons of head coaching experience, and front office experience which could help us while Loomis is out.

Ignore my previous post. I think I heard wrong...

HA! funny Neugie!
But seriously, I think before everyone get's all wee wee'd up over the possibility of the legend Parcells coming here, I think you'd have to consider that's asking alot of a 70 yr old man to be a head coach in the NFL. Especially since he's been retired, for what, 5 years?
Tom Coughlin will turn 66 this year (oldest active HC in the NFL) and there was talk about whether or not he was up to another season.
I'm just saying...

The big strike against it, that I keep hearing and reading about is, it would push him back and make Parcells ineligible for the Hall of Fame for another 5 years. He's 71 and from one article I read, he seems to be pretty interested in getting into the Hall of Fame, this would make it a much longer wait for him. No one really knows how he feels, but he seems to have been fairly interested in how he does in the balloting, the last couple of years, and probably wants to be honored while he's still alive. But who knows.
